No dwarf angelfish is entirely reef safe. While the Cherub Angelfish is less prone to coral nipping than some of its cousins, it may still pick at fleshy LPS corals, zoanthids, and clam mantles. SPS corals and soft corals are generally safer tank mates.

It is generally not recommended unless you have a very large tank (over 300 litres) and introduce a known mated pair. Two males, or two randomly selected individuals in a small tank, will likely fight to the death.

What should I feed my Cherub Angelfish?

They require a varied omnivorous diet. Offer a mix of marine algae or spirulina, alongside meaty foods like mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, and high-quality marine pellets. Constant access to grazing on live rock is also essential.
