About the Clown Loach
The Clown Loach is arguably the most famous loach in the aquarium hobby, instantly recognisable by its vivid orange body and striking black wedge stripes. Often purchased as juveniles to clear pest snails, many keepers are unaware that these fish can exceed 25 cm in length and live for decades. They are remarkably intelligent, displaying complex social hierarchies led by an alpha female, and boast highly endearing personalities that make them rewarding centrepiece fish for oversized aquaria.
