About the Desjardini Sailfin Tang
Hailing from the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, Zebrasoma desjardinii is widely considered one of the most majestic species in the tang family. When fully displaying its massive dorsal and anal fins, it appears almost double its normal size. Its complex patterning shifts remarkably as it matures, evolving from the stark banding of a juvenile into an impressive adult adorned with intricate yellow-to-white spots and striking facial freckles.
