About the Freshwater Pom Pom Crab
The Freshwater Pom Pom Crab (Ptychognathus barbatus) is a captivating and entirely aquatic species perfect for nano aquariums. Unlike its marine namesake which carries living anemones, this freshwater crustacean grows actual tufts of setae (hairs) directly on its claws. Reaching a maximum size of just 2.5 cm, these tiny crabs are peaceful, entertaining, and completely safe to keep with dwarf shrimp and appropriately sized nano fish.
