Mixing Zebrasoma tangs is inherently risky due to territorial aggression. If attempted, they must be introduced simultaneously into a very large aquarium (preferably over 600 litres) with extensive rockwork to break up lines of sight and minimise territorial disputes.

Are Gem Tangs completely reef safe?

Yes, they are generally excellent reef citizens. They will spend their day grazing on nuisance algae and will almost always leave your corals, clams, and ornamental invertebrates entirely alone.
