First bred in the UK in the 1980s, the Ghost Carp is a hybrid between a metallic Koi (Ogon) and a Common or Mirror Carp. This crossbreeding results in a fish that boasts the beautiful, shimmering scales of a Koi alongside the robust, muscular build of a wild carp. They are immensely popular in garden ponds and commercial fisheries due to their striking appearance, displaying dark, shadowy markings over a gold, silver, or platinum base.
