About the Hornwort
Ceratophyllum demersum, widely known as Hornwort, is a cosmopolitan aquatic plant found in still or slow-moving waters across the globe. Lacking true roots, it is exceptionally versatile and can be grown floating at the surface or loosely anchored to hardscape. Its rapid growth rate makes it a popular choice for absorbing excess nutrients, though it requires frequent pruning in smaller aquariums. The rigid, needle-like leaves offer exceptional hiding spaces for fry and small invertebrates.
