About the Magnificent Anemone

Heteractis magnifica, widely known in the hobby as the Ritteri Anemone, is among the most impressive and massive anemones available to reefkeepers. In the wild, they can grow to a metre in diameter, though they usually remain under 60 cm in captivity. They are distinguished by their brilliantly coloured columns, which can be striking shades of purple, magenta, red, or green, topped with thousands of finger-like tentacles. Due to their immense size and extremely specific care requirements, they are recommended only for experienced marine aquarists.
