About the Scooter Dragonet
Despite frequently being sold as a 'Scooter Blenny', the Scooter Dragonet actually belongs to the Callionymidae family. It features a mottled, highly camouflaged body that allows it to blend seamlessly into sandy substrates and live rock. Males possess a dramatically enlarged first dorsal fin, patterned with striking eyespots, which they repeatedly flash during courtship or territorial displays. They are peaceful towards most tankmates but require mature aquariums to thrive and avoid starvation.
