About the Sven's Eartheater
First described scientifically in 2010, Sven's Eartheater has quickly become one of the most highly sought-after members of the genus. They are renowned for their breathtaking adult colouration, displaying alternating vertical bars of iridescent red and blue along their flanks, punctuated by a prominent mid-lateral black spot. As they mature, both sexes—but especially dominant males—develop elaborate, trailing filaments on their dorsal, anal, and caudal fins. They are a relatively large cichlid, commanding attention in any appropriately sized biotope aquarium.
