About the Yasha Goby
Described scientifically in 2001, Stonogobiops yasha quickly became a highly sought-after species in the marine aquarium hobby. Its vibrant red-and-white striping and dramatic, spike-like first dorsal fin make it a stunning centrepiece for small setups. It is inherently a shy bottom-dweller that spends most of its time hovering near a chosen burrow. Watching this fish interact with its environment, particularly when paired with a symbiotic shrimp, is one of the most rewarding experiences in reef keeping.
